NATIVE AMERICAN ALGONQUIN-ABENAKI Louise (Boisvert) Simmons "Spirit Hawk", 88, of Willimantic, widow of Leo "Larry" Simmons, died Tuesday Sept. 16, 2003 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham. She was born Aug. 25,1915 in Taftville, the daughter of Donat and Angeline (Bibeau) Boisvert. She had been employed by the American Thread Co. and Electro-Motive Manufacturing Co. Louise was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and had enjoyed bowling for many years .She is survived by 2 sons; Kenneth B.C. Simmons and his wife Dorothy of Hebron and John D. Simmons of Stafford Springs, a brother Larry Boisvert and his wife Dottie of Willimantic, 2 sisters; Lucille Sentener of Storrs and Claire Giordano and her husband Richard of Mansfield, grandchildren; Keith B. Simmons and his wife Tracy of N. Windham, Kris R. Simmons and his wife Anne Marie of Windham, Bradley M. Simmons and his wife Susan of Windsor, Lisa M. Caputo and her husband Kenneth of N. Windham, Mark Simmons of Enfield and Paul Simmons and his wife Blanca of Norway, great grandchildren; Christen Forward and her husband Steven , Heather Butt, Michelle Butt, Kelli-Lynn Simmons, Kevin Simmons, Ashley Rose Simmons, Cassandra Therriault, Paul Emile Simmons and Joachim Simmons, great great grandchildren; Elijah Forward, Cameron Forward and Jordan Meakem. She was predeceased by a son Paul M. Simmons, her brothers Aldore, Philip and Edward Boisvert, sisters Jeanette Puleo, Evelyn Joly and Helen Boisvert and a granddaughter Angeline Simmons. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. ( Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Saturday at 8:15 prior to her 9:00am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic. Cremation will follow with private burial services in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. Please omit flowers.
