Louise T. Dainton

Louise (Temple) Dainton, 80, of Willimantic, widow of Charles E. Dainton Sr., died Sunday Aug. 10, 2003 at the Mansfield Center for Nursing. She was born May 15, 1923 in Westborough, MA. the daughter of Frederick O. Temple, age 104, of Westborough,MA. and the late Gladys (Waldron) Temple. After graduating from Westborough High School in 1941 and Worcester Teachers College in 1945, she taught briefly in Warren, MA. and Coventry, CT. before switching to a career in business. Following a 34 year career with Northeast Utilities , she retired in 1987. Louise and Charles were married in 1948 and were together until his passing in June 1987. In addition to her father she is survived by a son and daughter in law Charles and Cindy Dainton and their daughter Amanda Dainton of Mansfield, a daughter and son in law, Catherine L. Dainton Piacente and David Piacente and their children Kianne M .and Dante S. Dainton Piacente of Portland, OR. and Nicole Piacente of Beaverton, OR. and Sarah Piacente of Santa Fe, NM. She is also survived by a sister and brother in law Dorothy and Dr. Clarence Morgan of Portland, OR. as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. She was a lifetime member of the Windham Historical Society and the Windham Textile Museum. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Willimantic and had served in several capacities including as Christian Education Teacher, fund raiser organizer, Vestry member and treasurer. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 220 Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to a church of the donor's choice.
