Lorraine Elizabeth Marcure

Lorraine Elizabeth Martin Marcure of Hyde Park Road, Franklin, died Saturday at home. She was 68. She was born July 4, 1941, in Manchester, the daughter of Eleanor and Joseph Martin. She married John A. Marcure on Sept. 18, 1965. They moved to Franklin 30 years ago and they were both active in the community. He died Dec. 7, 2003. She was a member of Franklin Congregational Church, where she was church secretary for many years, and was active in women's fellowship organizations, the Board of Deacons and several other committees. She was a member of the Franklin Senior Center, and was active with the Laureate XI chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and Access Senior Housing of Franklin. She is survived by her brother, Richard Martin of Belmont, N.C., an uncle, Arthur Horn of Andover; three nephews, Brian Garland of South Glens Falls, N.Y., Andrew Whitford of Argyle, N.Y, and Jay Whitford of Bolton Landing, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Wilbur Whitford of South Glens Falls, N.Y., and several grand-nieces and -nephews and cousins. Her family will receive friends from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, at Franklin Congregational Church,31 Meeting House Hill Rd. Franklin. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Franklin Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
