Lois O. James, 85, of South Windham, died Saturday, December, 10, 2011 at the Windham Hospital. She was born July 29, 1926 in Willimantic, the daughter of Ture and Agnes (Johnstone) Olson and had lived in Windham all her life. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 17 years as program director for Natchaug Hospital, and afterward she enjoyed spending her winters in Florida. Lois was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Willimantic and their craft club. She enjoyed going to the various country fairs in the area and was a big fan and friend to the members of the Willimantic Women's Softball League. She is survived by her longtime partner, Kenneth Bidwell and many nieces, nephews and in-laws including Herbert and Helen Perkins, Scott Perkins and his wife Carol and Mark Perkins and his partner Ginger as well as many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Francis Perkins. Her family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Mansfield Center Cemetery.
