Linda Trace "Sister Mary Bernadette" Obituary
Linda L. Trace “Sister Mary Bernadette”, 75, of New London, CT passed away on July 4, 2022. She was adopted by the late Robert and Ann Trace in 1950 where she thrived and flourished.
Linda inherited her dad’s quick wittedness and his ability to make people smile and laugh. She was a nun, friend and confidant. Someone who cared and loved all of God’s creations. Linda always maintained a positive outlook no matter the challenges. She graduated with high honors from Coatsville High school in Pennsylvania. Linda graduated with high honors from Eastern Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in provisional education. She worked as a catholic grade schoolteacher at the elementary and high school level. Linda always learned from the mistakes she made and strived to help others who struggled. She loved animals and enjoyed taking care of her beloved cats and dogs.
She had a knack for all kinds of crafts from knitting to painting to making amazing wreaths of all kinds of shapes and sizes. She was in her element when she was creating but she always made time for the Lord, though she left the sister hood she kept her strong faith. One of her favorite quotes is “I shall not live a single moment without spending that moment loving.” Bernadette 1873. Linda was always charitable, often heard saying “if I have, they too will have it if I can help it.”
One of her happiest moments was swimming with the dolphins and feeling alive, weightless and free that all her burdens were lifted no matter how brief; She was with one of God’s creations and now her burdens are forever gone; her struggles of life's love are now in the Lord’s hands where she is with her loving parents by her side. They are all now and forever will be in God’s grace and loving care up in heaven.
She is survived by her best friend and support dog Reily and her kitty Peanut at which they have found loving forever homes.
Linda you are loved and missed.
