Linda Doubleday Obituary
Linda Lee (née Field) Doubleday, known to her friends as Lee, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Connecticut on June 14, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Bangor, Maine, in 1938, Linda lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a touch of quirkiness that endeared her to everyone who knew her. Linda was a devoted mother, cherishing her role with immense love and conviction. She raised eight children, instilling in them the values of kindness, joy, and the importance of family. Her fun-loving and silly nature brought countless smiles and unforgettable moments to her loved ones. She loved being the center of attention, especially when surrounded by her family.
Linda adored her large family, which includes her fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with two more great-grandchildren on the way. Her family meant the world to her, and she found immense joy and pride in each of them. Linda was predeceased by her husband Dwight, her stepdaughter, her father, her mother, and her brother, and is survived by her seven children and their families. As well as a special niece and nephew whom she cherished.
Throughout her life, Linda touched the hearts of many with her generous spirit and unwavering affection. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In accordance with her final wishes, Linda will be cremated. A private ceremony will be held for her children to spread her ashes in a place that was special to her.
