Linda Farmer, lovingly known as “Grandma Lindy" passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 14, 2025.
Born to Silas and Marion Farmer on July 10, 1951, Linda's life was one marked by love, service, curiosity, artistry, and a spirit of adventure. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Linda worked in town planning and zoning in several states spanning more than 20 years with focused efforts on conservation of green space and protecting marsh lands.
Linda had the eye of an artist. She found great joy in painting, pastels, weaving, and basket making. After retirement she remained an active artist at the Falmouth Art Center with pieces accepted into juried shows. Throughout her life she captured her travels and memories in her art, painting her way around the world. Linda enjoyed reading, exploring new places and cultures, enjoying good food and wine with friends, and above all, connecting with people from all walks of life.
Linda is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Koberstein; and their children: Meghan (Adam) Silliman and Nicholas (Kristin) Koberstein. Her legacy lives on in her cherished grandchildren: Brock, Cole, Drew, Harper and Wyatt.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held Friday December 19th between the hours of 5:00-7:00 at Potter Funeral home, 456 Jackson Street, Willimantic CT 06226. Please come to share stories. Guests are encouraged to wear bright fun colors and if Linda ever gifted you “funky” jewelry, clothing, or scarves now is the time to show it off.
In honor of her memory, the family asks that you spend a day painting, reading a good book, having a nice glass of wine, or planning a new adventure just as she would have done.
