Linda J. Bates, 43, of Lebanon, wife of Richard "Dick" Bates Jr. died Monday March 18, 2002 at the W.W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was born June 13, 1958 in Putnam, the daughter of Henry Warren of Dayville, and the late Olive (Burgon) Warren and had lived in Lebanon for the past 22 years. She grew up in Pawcatuck and attended West Vine St. School in Stonington and Windham High School. She loved to play Bingo, ride motorcycles and travel, especially along the coast of Maine. In addition to her husband and father she is survived by a son, Jonnie Warren of Plainville, 3 brothers, Walter Burgon of Nebraska, Richard and William Warren, both of Danielson, 2 sisters, Cindy Harrington of Woodstock and Donna Bourque of Moosup, her stepmother, Pauline Warren of Dayville, three dear friends, Mary, Kay and Terry, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, B.J. Snelling. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Rd. Lebanon. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108. The Potter Funeral home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic is in charge of arrangements.
