Lillian Roberts

Lillian (Sellers) Roberts, 85, of Windham, wife of sixty five years of Omer L. Roberts, died Wednesday Nov. 2, 2011 at Douglas Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 13, 1926 in Mansfield, the daughter of John and Lillian (Marchat) Sellers. Lillian had been employed as a bookkeeper for twenty one years by Windham Sand & Stone prior to her retiring. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women's Basketball. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Charles of FL, John of Windham, Richard of Willimantic and Stephen and his wife Kathy of Windham; two daughters, Nancy Dorsey and her husband Thomas Sr. of Hebron and Carolyn Jordan and her husband Barry of N. Windham; two brothers, Robert Bassett of Cape Cod, MA and Donald Bassett of Bolton; thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Patricia Alberson and a brother Francis Sellers. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday Nov. 5th between 9:00am and 10:00am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic prior to her 10:30am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic.
