Lillian "Lorraine" MacDonald, nAC.e Farrell, 96, died peacefully on January 16, 2015 at her home in Manhattan, NY, surrounded by family and friends, four cats and two dogs. Born in Willimantic, CT in 1919, she grew up on Pleasant Street, and was a graduate of Windham High School and The Willimantic Teachers College. A dedicated elementary school teacher from 1940 to 1984, she taught in Durham, Windham Center, and for many years at Valley View School in Portland. She was a resident of South Glastonbury, CT from 1958 until her move to Manhattan, NY in 1995, where Lorraine was a frequent audience member at The Metropolitan Opera, but her objective for moving to New York was to help raise her then 5 year old grandson. She is predeceased by her husband, James "Red" MacDonald, her son, James MacDonald, her grandson, Nicholas Donaldi-Subero, and her brother, John Farrell, Jr. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Maria Donaldi of New York City, two sisters, Barbara Bradley of Middletown, CT, and Joan Gilbransen of Willimantic, CT, and her brother Donald Farrell of West Palm Beach, FL, many nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 99 Jackson Street, in Willimantic, CT on January 19, 2015 at 12:00 PM. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital,
