Lillian S. Lester

Lillian (Sullivan)Lester, 91, of Lewiston Avenue, Willimantic, widow of Harold P. Lester, died Monday Oct. 14, 2002 at Haven Health Care of Windham. She was born June 11, 1911 in Willimantic the daughter of the late Michael and Lillian (Logan) Sullivan. As a 1933 graduate of Hartford?s St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, she was employed at the Windham Hospital for 25 years and then as a school nurse for the Windham Public Schools for 20 years. Lillian was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the St. Francis Alumni Assoc., St. Joseph Women's Club, the Natchaug School Retired Teacher's Assoc. and the Michigan Card Club. She is survived by a son and daughter in law John "Jack" and Phyllis Lester of Columbia, a daughter and son in law Susan and Brad Humes of Willimantic, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30am prior to her 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St.Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to St. Joseph Church Renovation Fund, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic,Ct. 06226.
