Mansfield Ctr.- Lillian May Gyure, the wife of the late Charles Gyure, both of Mansfield Ctr., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer. Born May 6, 1934 in Willimantic to the late William Tanner and Gladys (Waite) Tanner, both of Chaplin, Lillian worked as a meat wrapper for many years at Better Value, before working as Supervisor of Operations for the Jasper's stores. She also worked for a short time as a homemaker for VNA East. Lillian continued her and Charlie's involvement with Cha-wi-ma Co-op Campground in Chaplin, enjoying the fun, fishing, and many nights of card playing by the campfire with old friends. Lillian is survived by three siblings, Evelyn and husband Bill Riopel of Florida, and Arthur and wife Alice Tanner of Ohio, and Fredick Tanner Jr. Also surviving are three children, Charles and wife Nancy Gyure Jr. of Ashford, Mark and wife Nancy Gyure of Clinton, Maryland, Wanda and husband Rick Arborio of Scotland and eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, and Sarah Gyure, Nicole and husband Ricardo Martinez Chavez, Samantha Horan and fiance Jason LaBrecaque, Joanna Arborio, Travis and Aram Gyure, two great-grand-children Olivia and Ricardo Charles Martinez Chavez. She also leaves her beloved little pug, Shadow. Lillian's family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff of WCMH paramedics, Emergency Department, 4-Shea, as well as Hospice of VNA East and the Mansfield Fire Department. A graveside service will be held on May 29, 2010 at 10 am at the Mansfield Center Cemetery with a gathering of friends and family immediately following at The Christian Fellowship Church in Scotland.
