Liam McLaughlin Obituary
Liam Joseph McLaughlin of Willimantic and Mansfield Center CT, passed away on May 4, 2024.  He was born on August 4, 1988, in Manchester, CT.  Liam grew up in Mansfield Center, graduated from EO Smith High School, and received an associate degree in environmental science from Manchester Community College.  He worked for several local businesses and independent contractors.

Liam was always adventurous.  He was an avid reader and had an interest in learning new things his entire life.  Some of his favorite places to visit with his family were Eastham, MA. on Cape Cod and the Presidential Range in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. He was a skilled skier, loved outdoor activities including skateboarding, camping, fishing, and hiking, along with an interest in technology and electronics.  He also loved creating things.   Some of his projects and works of art included drawings, jewelry, pottery, and woodwork.

Liam is survived by his parents Kevin J. McLaughlin and Sandra J. McAlduff of Mansfield Center, his sister Seanna G. McLaughlin of Davis, CA along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins, his girlfriend Kristen Sawyer and their two adventurous dogs Jackson and Mykyta - all who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.

Liam’s family will have a private memorial funeral service for him on Saturday, June 15, 2024.  The family will provide you with additional information.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Safe Passage (Camino Seguro) www.safepassage.org in Liam’s honor.  This is an organization Liam volunteered at in Guatemala City, Guatemala.  Liam loved the time he spent there with the children.  The Safe Passage mission is to provide a pathway out of poverty through education for children in the Guatemala City dump community.
