Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Leslie R. Parrotte, 73, of Ashford, passed away peacefully at home on Friday Dec. 14, 2001 with his family and friends at his side. He was born on May 27, 1928 in Swanton, VT. the son of the late Roy and Flora Parrotte of Chazy. N.Y. He loved dairy farming and working the land. He also loved to go coon hunting with his friend of 26 years, Jake. Leslie was a veteran of the Korean War and was stationed in Munich, Germany with the VT. National Guard 43rd Division, 172 Inf. Division, as a heavy truck driver. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Beverly, 2 daughters and sons in law; Ann and Bryant Evans of N. Windham and Jane and Thomas Evans of Ashford, 3 grandchildren; Kristy Ann, Matthew and Laura Evans, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Melissa Evans. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic TODAY from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00am, with burial following in the Woodward Cemetery, Ashford, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the Hospice of Eastern CT., 34 Ledgebrook Dr., Mansfield Center, CT. 06250.
