Leora Strout

Leora J. (Lariviere) Strout, widow of Carl S. Strout, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Wed. June 2, 2004 at the Haven Health Center in Willimantic. Born on June 20, 1911 in Willimantic, she was the daughter of Edward and Sara Lariviere. Leora was an avid lover of music and always will be remembered for her singing. She retired from the American Thread Co. in 1983. Leora is survived by 2 daughters Betty Wright of Webster, FL. and Linda Menditto and her husband Dominick of Chaplin, 3 grandsons; Carl Smart and his wife Cathy of Scotland, Brian Menditto and his wife Maria of Chaplin, Darrin Menditto and his wife Dawn of Brooklyn, 3 granddaughters; Donna Cunningham and her husband Kirby of Ft. Fairfield, ME., Carla Chasse and her husband John of Chaplin, and Heidi Menditto of Eastford. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren Keith and Natasha Smart, Kyle and Keri Cunningham, Sarah and Amber Menditto, Devon and Dylan Menditto and Cody Lester. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Rte 195 Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Friday at 9:15am prior to her 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic.
