Leopold A. Corbeil, 79, of Willimantic, died Monday Feb. 24, 2014. He was born in Moosup on January 7, 1935 the son of Joseph and Fabiola (Moreau) Corbeil. Mr. Corbeil was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was a letter carrier for 27 years for the U.S. Postal Service in Willimantic. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, a life member of Windham Fish and Game Club, longtime member of NRA and a member of American Legion Post #19. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Doris (Carter) Bailey Corbeil, a sister Theresa Markham and her husband Warren of Manchester, a daughter Brenda Dackow and her husband Bohdan of Brookfield, a stepdaughter Jeanette Rohan and her husband Robert of Columbia and a stepson Gerald Bailey and his wife Sherry of Hampton. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kelly Rittenhouse, Renee and Mark Dackow and four step grandchildren Kyle Bailey and his wife Becky, Chelsey Bailey, Amy Ethier and her husband Nathan and Corey Rohan. He was predeceased by a sister Elaine Corbeil, a half-brother Rudolph Corbeil, a daughter Gail Rittenhouse and his first wife Gloria (LeBlanc) Corbeil. There are no calling hours and services at this time will be held privately with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
