Leonard (Len) W. Duda Sr. died peacefully on November 14, 2014 at his home at The Creamery Brook Retirement Community in Brooklyn, CT. Leonard was born on July 6, 1923 to Walter and Mary Duda in Norwalk, CT. He was predeceased by his wife Doris of 60+ years, brothers Michael D'adonna and Samuel Duda. He is survived by his two sons, Len Jr. and Fred, two daughters-in-law Joyce and Paula, five grandsons David, Steven, Alan, Erik, and Kirk. He was proud to be an Army Veteran in WWII, where he earned a Bronze Star, and to also serve in Korea. He supported many Veteran causes in his later life as his patriotism never faltered. Len and his business partner Jim Reese founded Standard Supply of Connecticut, a very successful refrigeration wholesale supply house in Norwalk that allowed him to support his family the way he wanted to. After selling the business and retiring, he spent many years in Florida with his wife Doris doing the things he loved to do, walking the beach and swimming with her, playing golf, spending time with friends, and waiting for visits from family. When Doris' health took a turn for the worse, they returned to Connecticut to be closer to family. He never really recovered from her passing in 2012 after so many years together and often commented how he couldn't wait to see her again. He will be missed by family and friends and also those at Creamery Brook who loved his sense of humor and his sense of caring, never failing to help anyone who asked. At his request there will be no funeral or memorial service, only a private burial service with immediate family in the Spring of 2015. In lieu of flowers, he asks that you make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project on-line at
