Leona A Wood

Leona Aseltine Wood, 91, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and great-grandmother died peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2014, at Apple Rehab in Colchester. She was born on February 9, 1923, in East Braintree , Vermont, to the late Arthur and Charlotte Aseltine. Leona married Woodrow Wood on October 7, 1941, who predeceased her in 2000. She leaves as her beloved legacy, her oldest son Woodrow Wood Jr. and his wife Margaret, her son Colin Wood, her daughter Christine Germain and her husband Bill, son Bob Wood and his wife Elise. She was predeceased by her son, Arthur Wood in 1979. Leona loved family events, particularly those involving her grandchildren, Daniel and Michael Wood, Angela Wood Pierce and her husband Fred, and Amanda Wood. She was blessed with four great- grandchildren: Tena Wood, Heather Wood, Kylie and Will Pierce. Leona and her family lived in Lebanon, CT for many years, making many friends along the way. Loved by all, she will be sorely missed. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St.Willimantic, CT to celebrate her life, from 6:00 to 8:00 on Thursday, 4/24/2014. There will be a private burial scheduled for a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Apple Rehab of Colchester, 36 Broadway, Colchester CT 06415, to support the many activities the residents experience there.
