Leona (Bucko) Pavone, widow of Thomas G. Pavone, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham. She was born March 6, 1920 in Windham Center, the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Bucko. Leona worked in the testing room at the American Thread Co. until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed reading romance novels and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Diane and Woodrow Schlehofer of Windham, her son Philip Pavone, also of Windham, her granddaughter Carrie and her husband Steve Passaro and their children, Nicholas and Michael of Windsor Locks, her grandson Daniel and his wife Annette Pavone and their children, Natalie, Kevin and Rebecca of Mansfield, her brother Donald Bucko of Danbury, a very special sister-in-law, Theresa Bucko of New Fairfield and two very special ladies, Vivian Mitchell of Willimantic and Mary Rose Trainor of Columbia, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters and five brothers. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. Her family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph Living Center for the wonderful care they provided Leona.
