Leona Mae Lee

Leona Mae (Grant) Lee, 101, of Willimantic, joined her late husband Clifford S. Lee on Monday May 15, 2006 . She was born Feb. 18, 1905 in Winsted, the daughter of Leon and Ida (Fowler) Grant. Leona was a member of St. Peter s Episcopal Church in Hebron and had won several prizes over the years at Hebron Harvest Fair for her plants and handwork. She devoted her life to being a superb wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by five children, son Clifford S. Lee Jr. and his partner Kay Wagner of Becket, MA., and daughters Elizabeth Chiapponi of Newington, Bea Andrews and her husband Ray of Lebanon, Shirleyann McDonald of Newington and Serena Lee and her husband Jon Frank of Willimantic; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and a niece. She was predeceased by her grandson Raymond F. Andrews III. Her family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday between 6:00 and 8:00pm. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 1:00pm at St. Peter s Episcopal Church, 30 Church St. (Rte. 85) Hebron, with interment following in St. Peter s Cemetery.
