Leon Wallace Nye

Leon Wallace Nye, 82 of Hampton CT, son of the late Olive and William Nye Sr, passed away peacefully among family and friends at Fox Hill Nursing in Vernon CT, September 11, 2011. He was the beloved husband of late Gertrude Nye. He is survived by his children Cheryl Lane of Danielson Ct, Joseph Nye and his wife Rhonda of Hampton Ct, Lorie Molochnick and her husband Steve of Chaplin Ct, Linda Colby and her husband David of Chaplin CT, Alice LaFreniere of Windham Ct. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, his sisters Ginny Duchesneau of California and Dottie Polaina of Danielson CT and his brother Earl Nye of Willimantic CT. He was predeceased by his brothers Burt and Bill and sisters Margaret and Viola. He served six years in the Korean War. He was employed at Electro Motive Manufacturing Co. and American Thread Co. in Willimantic CT before his retirement from Whitcraft of Eastford, CT. There are no calling hours. A graveside service with military honors will take place on Wednesday Sept. 14th at 3:00pm in South Cemetery, Rte. 97, Hampton.
