Leo A. Morell Jr., 80, of North Windham, devoted husband to the late June (Culpin) Morell, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 in Windham. He was born June 19, 1932 in Webster, MA, the son of the late Stella and Leo Morell Sr. and had lived in Windham most of his life. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a painter for many years at the University of Connecticut. He was a life member of the V.F.W., the American Legion, the Elks Club and the French Club. He enjoyed visiting with his family and with friends at the various clubs and at breakfast at Pine Acres Restaurant in Chaplin. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Michael and Denise Morell of Columbia, Glenn and Candace Morell of Hampton, four grandchildren, Kaya and Jack Morell and Sarah and Connor D'Auteuil, a brother Arthur and four sisters, Esther, Jackie, Phyllis and Pauline and his close friend, Lorraine Patrick. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert and a sister, Irene. His family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 30th 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday May 1st at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic with assembly at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in the Windham Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans at dav.org or P.O.
