Lena Gasper, 92, formerly of Andover, died Thursday June 5, 2003 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham. She was born Aug. 19, 1910 in New York, N.Y. the daughter of John and Rose (Kollar) Gasper. She was a communicant of St. Columba Church in Columbia where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. Lena had been employed as a housekeeper at both St. Columba Rectory and at St. Joseph Rectory in Willimantic. She also worked for several years at the Andover Post Office. She is survived by 2 sisters; Louise McCluskey of Woodstock and Helen Hauschild of Mansfield Center and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 4 brothers; John V. Gasper, Joseph S. Gasper, Andrew Frederick Gasper and Stanley G. Gasper and a sister Florence Libby. There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday at 9:00am prior to the procession to her 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Columba Church, Columbia. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to St. Columba Church, 328 Rte. 66, Columbia, Ct. 06237.
