L. Louise Potter, 78, of Chaplin, died Monday February 9, 2004 at her home. She was born December 28, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of John and Mary (Sheliga) Romanik and had lived in North Windham most of her married life. Louise and her partner Baron Bray were co-owners of Potter's Oil Service in North Windham for many years. She was a well respected business woman in the Windham area and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the North Windham Volunteer Fire Dept. After her retirement she enjoyed painting with a group of friends. She is survived by 3 children, Scott Potter of Newport RI, Tina Abell and her husband Roger of Mansfield Center, Pat Sparks and her husband Larry of Lancaster, KY, a sister, Helen Jensen of Lebanon, 2 grandsons, Matthew and Eric, 2 granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer, a great grandson Jack Russell several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon, Rte. 207 at the junction of Rte. 87, Lebanon.
