Kurt R Johnson

Kurt R. Johnson, 50, of Columbia, died Thursday October 10, 2002 at home. He was born February 15, 1952 in Waterbury, the son of Richard Johnson of Columbia and the late Anna (Boyle) Johnson and had lived in Columbia the past 15 years. He was a graduate of Norwalk State Technical College receiving a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology and was employed for the past 15 years as an electronic technician at the Mechanical Engineering Department at UCONN. He was a long time member of the Natchaug Amateur Radio Club, affiliated with the ARRL and earned his F.C.C. First Class License in 1994. In addition to his father he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ian and Caroline Johnson of Sterling, VA, his former wife and her husband Susan and John Collins, a brother, Kevin Johnson of Westport, a sister and brother-in-law, Karla and Wesley Cann of Storrs, a nephew, Tyler Cann and nieces Erika Cann and Jessica Schultz, aunts and uncles, Maureen Boyle, Everett Boyle, Guy and Muriel Boyle. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic with the reverend Alice O?Donovan officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be private in Windsorville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Eastern CT, 34 Ledgebrook Dr., Mansfield Center, CT 06250.
