Kimberly Lyn Cahoon, born on March 6, 1981 in Willimantic, Connecticut.
She was sent to her eternal home on April 22, 2025.
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our sweet Kimberly.
Affectionately known to her friends and family as Kim, Kimmy, and Kimmie Pie (which only a few were allowed to call her).
To say Kimberly had a heart as big as her personality is an understatement. There wasn’t anyone that Kim would not offer to help. She always had a compassionate ear to just listen, offer advice or just a hug to those in need. Her family and friends were everything to Kim. She was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and enduring love for her parents, Bob and Betty; along with her best and closest friends Liz, Jay, Le-Ann, and Tom. Kimberly was known by not only her nephews as Aunty Kim, but also her best friend’s son Alex, who was one of her favorite little people. Kim’s passing has left a void in the hearts of family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Kimberly is survived by her loving parents, Robert and Betty Cahoon, her loving sister Loree Hemingway, nephews, Michael, Joshua and Justin Hemingway and great nephews, Michael Hemingway Jr. (June Bug), Jackson and Jaylin Hemingway. Her best and closest friends Liz Scott, Jason and Le-Ann Scott, and Thomas McCollum. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
For those who knew Kim, they will remember her infectious smile, and overwhelming laughter, and her deep love for family and friends. Kimberly had an unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. Not to mention, a rare gift of making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Kimberly Lyn Cahoon will be held on May 28, 2025 at 12:00 - 3:00PM at The First Congregational Church of Willimantic, 199 Valley Street, Willimantic, CT 06226
