Kenneth Tremblay Obituary
Kenneth Tremblay, 92, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024. Born on November 21, 1932, in Hamilton, Ontario, son of Alcime (Fred) and Marie Rose Claire (Morrisette) Tremblay.  He was the brother of: Frederick, Ralph, Robert, and William. Kenneth spent most of his childhood in Baltic, CT, and Foster, RI. At the age of 19, Kenneth joined the Army and dedicated his life to service to our country.  He proudly served for 21 years, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel.  His military career took him all over the world, including tours in Germany, Vietnam, and Alaska, where he earned numerous commendations for his bravery and leadership. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.  While in the Army, Kenneth enrolled in college classes wherever he was stationed and proudly earned a bachelor’s degree at the age of 37. This accomplishment inspired him to further his education, leading to three master’s degrees from E.C.S.U.  Following his distinguished military service, Kenneth continued to serve his community as the Personnel Director at Windham Hospital where he was known for his fairness and dedication.  In his retirement, he was an active member of the Willimantic Chamber of Commerce.

Kenneth is survived by the love of his life, Joyce Brown Tremblay of Oneco, CT.  Kenneth met Joyce at the age of 17 and their marriage flourished for over 71 years throughout numerous military deployments that separated Ken from his family. Together, they were devoted parents who nurtured and took pride in their four children: Kenneth (deceased), Keith, Karen Perlstein (Mitch), and Kate Baber (Dave). Kenneth was adored by his nine grandchildren and six great children: Tamara Multanen (Jay), Matthew Baber (Milena), Kenneth Tremblay III (Brandy), Kyle Tremblay, Craig Tremblay, Scott Baber (Nikki), Emma Perlstein, Lauren Perlstein, Bess Perlstein, Noah Baber, Lucie and Leo Multanen, Kenneth Tremblay IV and Kati and Nico Baber.  His legacy of service, love, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Kenneth’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, with a funeral service to honor Kenneth’s life at 11:00am.  Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, in Sterling.
