Kenneth "Brian" Start

Dr. Kenneth ?Brian? Start, of Mansfield Center, husband of Dr. Alexinia Young Baldwin, died Sunday August 21, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Wales England, the son of the late Joseph and Gwenyth Start. Brian immigrated to London, where he served as an Evaluator for NFER. He subsequently moved to accept the John Smith Chair at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Brian taught courses there for 30 years before deciding to follow his love to the USA and become a legal resident of Mansfield Center, CT. He met frequently at Starbucks, which he coined ?St. Arbucks?, on Sunday mornings, where he often discussed technical issues related to education and evaluation. Brian leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife, three daughters Angharad Start, of London England, Samantha Start of London, England and Tirion Start of Sydney Australia, one stepdaughter, Dr. Carlita RB Cotton (Husband Rev. Hollis M Cotton), four grandchildren, and a host of friends and colleagues. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
