Kenneth Allen Luurtsema Sr

Kenneth Allen Luurtsema Sr, 74, of Storrs, passed away Sunday March 29, 2009 with his loving family at his side. He is survived by his best friend and wife Michelle and children Kenneth Ramsdell his wife Jane, Linda Simpson her husband Mark, Heather Fitzgerald her husband Tom, Kenneth Luurtsema Jr his wife Amanda, as well as 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He was the son of the late George W. Luurtsema and Mary V. Marchant formerly of Coventry Ct. Kenneth was employed by the Town of Vernon in the family trade as an electrician. He was proudly raised to be a Freemason on October 3rd 1964 with his father and served as Master of the Lodge and later Organist. He was an avid reader and music aficionado who enjoyed sharing time with his family and friends at the family lake house in Massachusetts. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday April 2nd from 5:00 to 6:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 6:00pm. at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Services will begin with Rev. John Park officiating and will conclude with a Masonic Service. Committal services will be at the family's convenience.
