Kenneth Carman Obituary
Kenneth A. Carman, brother, uncle, friend and chef lost his battle with cancer at the age of 63 on November 10, 2022.
Ken grew up in Willington, CT the middle son of the late Sylvia and Eugene Carman. He was predeceased by his brother Keith. Ken is survived by his brother Cliff and his wife Ann, his sister-in-law Lee and several nieces and nephews who knew him as the “cool uncle”.
He attended Windham High and was active in the Boy Scouts. He was an avid camper and beach bum with a special love for the Cape Cod seashore.
Ken will be remembered by all the hungry people he fed in his long culinary career starting at the Pipedream restaurant with stops at Hilltop, Huskies, Stoggy Hollow, and the Altnaveigh, before retiring from the UConn Dining Services where he fed countless students from the Northwest Dining hall.
Cliff and his family would like to thank the Windham Hartford Healthcare Group Oncology team and “chair four” for their love and care during his difficult battle with cancer, and the wonderful Hartford Healthcare Hospice team for their patient support at all hours of the night.
His family will receive friends for calling hours from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday November 17, 2022 at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St Willimantic CT. In lieu of flowers or a “shoebox of twenties” kindly consider a memorial donation to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at
