Katherine Madeline Zartun

We regret to announce the passing of Katherine Madeline Zartun of Storrs, CT, who has left to be with her heavenly father. She was the daughter of Adrian and Mildred Schiess (Lehrenkrauss) from Garden City, NY. Katherine was a devoted wife and mother. She married the late William Zartun on December 6, 1947, and they lived for over 30 years in Massapequa, NY. They moved to Storrs, CT in 1985, and Katherine was active in tap dancing, playing in her bridge groups, and with the Mansfield Senior Center and St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She is survived by three children: W. Paul Zartun (wife Janice Ann) of Denver, CO; Katherine Ann Zartun of Storrs, CT and Dr. Donna Louise Zartun (husband, Dr. Eugene Cioffi) of Mobile, AL. In addition, she is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. A memorial Christian mass will be conducted by St. Thomas Aquinas, 46 N. Eagleville Rd. Storrs, CT, on Monday July 11th at 10:30 am.
