Katherine M. (Mccann) Richards

Katherine M Richards, of Storrs, wife of the late Lawrence A. Richards, died April 3, 2018 at Windham Community Hospital. She was born in Boston, MA, daughter to the late AnnaRita (Sheehan) and Wallace McCann in 1927. Katherine lived most of her life and raised her family in New Britain, moving to Storrs in retirement to be closer to her grandchildren. She retired from SNET after more than 50 years of service. In her retirement, she also worked at the UConn Call Center in Storrs. Katherine is survived by her daughter; Lynn Megquier of Coventry, CT; a son William Richards of Windham, CT and a daughter in law Beth Richards of Danielson, CT. Katherine was known to most as "Nina" a name bestowed upon her by her grandson Vinny in the 60's and kept lovingly since.(Nina /Gram) also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Lawrence A Richards lll of Williamstown, Vt., Vincent Trigilio and his wife Paula of Coventry, Ct., Kimberly Richards of Irmo, SC, Angela Cichon and her husband Jared of Columbia, CT, Sarah Richards of Portland, CT, Thomas Richards and his wife Milou of Calgary, Alberta, Laura Richards of Bronx, NY., and Erin Richards, of Danielson, CT; eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons; Lawrence A. Richards Jr. and Thomas S. Richards. There are no calling hours. Services will be private.
