Karl L. Beckert, 89, passed away on March 25, 2021 at home with his family in Storrs, CT. He was born on September 22, 1931 in New Haven, CT to Hermann F. Beckert and Isabel Hildebrand Beckert.
Karl grew up in West Haven, CT but his parents moved to Storrs in 1941. He served in the Navy as a pilot during the Korean War aboard the USS Wright. He graduated from the University of Connecticut. He retired from Dunham-Busch in Newington after 25 years then worked at Brand Rex for the next 5 years. He maintained x-ray machines in the Radiology Department at Windham Hospital for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Beckert; his children Karla Beckert, Karl Beckert, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, Karleen Donato, Kristin Gardiner and her husband, Andrew; grandchildren Jessica, Stephanie, Cindy, Stephanie, Kristen, Justin, Nick, Jodi, Amanda, Samantha, Jordan, and Andrew, Jr.; and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Dorbuck Beckert in 1992.
