Julie Hoddinott, 66, of Columbia, CT passed away peacefully on May 1, 2021. She was born in Hartford, CT to Normand and Gracia (Pelletier) Chicoine. Julie graduated from Bulkeley High School in Hartford, CT. She received her nursing degree from St. Francis Nursing School. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the VA Hospital until she decided to stay at home to raise her family and run a home daycare. Julie was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi and a member of their Ladie’s Guild. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, camping, time with her family; especially watching her grandkids grow, and attending church. She also enjoyed adventurous ziplining in Alaska and parasailing in Bermuda. Julie will live on through her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Dennis Hoddinott; children, Jimmy of East Hampton, CT, Daniel and his fiancée, Monica of Ithaca, NY, and Laura and her husband Richie McKinnon of Marlborough, CT; grandchildren Samantha and Zachary McKinnon; brothers, Robert Chicoine of Palm Bay, FL, Dennis Chicoine and his wife Judy of Glastonbury, CT, and Paul Chicoine of Willington, CT; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Andre. Julie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226. Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Church 67 W. Town St. Lebanon, CT 06249 with her burial following at West Street Cemetery in Columbia, CT.
