Julia L. Zanotti, 93, of Columbia, widow of Ernest Zanotti Sr., died Thursday, May 5, 2005 in Willimantic. She was born December 26, 1911 in Lover Italy, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Bertolas. She came to America after her marriage in Lover, Italy on April 30, 1930. She spent 3 years in New York City then she and her husband bought a small farm on Pine Street in Columbia. Julia was a devoted wife and mother. She was a hard worker and excelled at all domestic duties as well as gardening. Julia was a superb cook and housekeeper. Her sewing, knitting and crocheting skills were legendary. Her membership in St. Columba Church was an important part of her life. She touched the lives of all who knew and loved her. She is survived by 2 sons, Ernest Zanotti Jr. of Coventry, Frank Zanotti of Cape Coral, FL, 5 grandhchildren, Christine Sadow and Thomas Zanotti, Linda Zanotti, Tina Pelletier and Susan Williams, 6 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Amanda, Andrew, Brenden and Megan, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a son Louis Zanotti, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Monday at 9:00 a.m. prior to the procession to her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, Columbia. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Columba Church, 328 Rte. 87, Columbia, CT 06237.
