Julia Kneeland Marshall, 89, of Windham, wife of the late Roland F. Marshall, died on Monday, December 17, 2018 surrounded by family and friends at the home of her daughter, Eileen Marshall. She was born in Lebanon, CT, the daughter of the late John and Helen Kneeland. Julia graduated from Windham High School. She retired from the University of Connecticut, Payroll Department as a payroll clerk. She was very involved with her church, the First United Methodist Church, The Greenery and the Hospitality Program. She loved to knit, do crafts, and garden in which she took great pride in her gardens. She loved to walk every day for miles and especially with her friend and neighbor, Grace Nowak. She loved to go for rides and get lost with her sister, Elsie. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her son, Paul R. Marshall (Claudette Desautels) of Windham; two daughter-in-laws, Dorothy Marshall of North Windham and Jacqueline Marshall of South Windham; nine grandchildren, Susan Bissell (Tom), Daniel Marshall, Bryan Marshall, Nick Desateul, Valeen Andrews, Bridget Andrews, and Sarah Moore (David); 15 great-grandchildren, Crystal, Sarah, Thomas and Daniel Bissell, Rebecca, Jordyn and Hailey Marshall, Kitana and Easton Marshall, Elijah, Logan and Taylor Vertefeuille, John and Abigail Moore, and Lilliana Desautels; two great-great-grandchildren, Mylo and Dean Bissell. Julia was predeceased by her husband, Roland Marshall, sons; Daniel and Alan Marshall, grand-daughter; Tina Vertefeuille, two brothers; Harold and Clarence Kneeland; three sisters, Esther Lignor, Gladys Wright, and Elsie Arson. Julia's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 4:00PM to 5:00PM at the First United Methodist Church, 29 Puddin Lane, Mansfield Center, CT with a Funeral Service following from 5:00PM to 6:00PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
