Julia L. DiBerardino of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 after a short illness. She was born in eastern Connecticut on May 10, 1917 to Alfredo and Teresa Lepri. Julia lived in Connecticut most of her life and moved to Florida in 2005 to be close to family. She graduated from Bulkeley High School in Hartford, Connecticut and worked at Pratt and Whitney in the 1940's. Later, she enjoyed working as a bank teller at the Connecticut Bank and Trust for many years. There, she met her beloved husband, Silvio DiBerardino. They resided in Wethersfield, Connecticut and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Canada and the United States. She was an avid writer and her political interests motivated her to write editorials for the Hartford papers. Cooking, dressmaking and drapery designing were her favorite pastimes. Julia had a deep faith and compassion for others. Her dedication to family and friends during their time of need became a lifelong commitment. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and her caring friends at Clare Bridge Assisted Living. She was predeceased by her husband, Silvio DiBerardino and her daughters, Brenda Bliss and Dawn B. Eaton. Julia is survived by her daughter, Andrea Celenza and her husband Eugene of Fort Myers. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Matthew W. Mocarski and his wife Karen of Boynton Beach, FL, Lauren B. Hall of Plantation, FL, Lara Quinn and her husband Matthew of Eastford, CT, Brenna Gagnon and her husband David of Baltic, CT, and Joseph Eaton and his wife Cat of Scotland, CT. Julia also leaves six great-grandchildren, Alec, Breanna, Lily, Evan, Gabriella and Ryan. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Nov. 2nd between 10:00 and 10:30am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic prior to her 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic.
