Judith “Judy” Lynn Shea-Ursin, 65, of Lebanon, Connecticut, passed away on March 27, 2023 in her home. She was born in Windham, Connecticut on June 15, 1957. Judy was a loving mom, sister, daughter, and friend. She spent most of her life taking care of others as a dedicated I.C.U. and O.R. nurse at both Windham Hospital and Backus Hospital. Regardless of the amount of P.P.E. she wore in the operating room, her smile remained contagious. Judy loved and was loved by her many co-workers over the years. When Judy was not within the walls of the hospitals, she was raising her beloved son, Tyler, and loving her three grandchildren. Judy also enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her close friends. She especially loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews and with her many animals over the years.
Judy is survived by her mother, Joan (White) Shea; brothers, Richard Shea Jr., Robert Shea, Jonathon Shea and their families; Her son and his wife, Tyler and Bethany Ursin; and her three grandchildren, Chase, Aiden, and Mia. Judy also leaves behind many other family members, friends, and her beloved cat, Lenny.
She was predeceased by her father, Richard Shea and her brothers Thomas Shea and Steven Shea.
Judy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
