Judge Terence Anthony Sullivan

Judge Terence Anthony Sullivan, 77, of Willington, passed away on August 18, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Terence (Terry) leaves his wife of fifty-four years, Mary (Dolan) Sullivan, sons Michael Sullivan, Dr. John Sullivan, and daughter Maureen Sullivan, as well as his five grandchildren Nora, Ethan, Emma, Lukas, and Ellen. Further, Terry leaves his sister Deborah (Sullivan) Fitzgerald and brother Mark Sullivan, as well as many other dear family members. Born and raised in Willimantic, the son of John and Velma (Brown) Sullivan, Terry joined the U.S. Navy in 1955 where he became a hospital corpsman, and later was also a part of the Marine Corps. Terry met his wife Mary at a dance at Chelsea Naval Hospital while she was a student at Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts. The pair was married in 1961. Terry earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Experimental Psychology, a Master's Degree in Psychology, and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Connecticut. He was a Public Defender, Prosecutor, Assistant State's Attorney, and State's Attorney before being appointed Superior Court Judge by Governor William O'Neill. Terry spent over twenty-five years as a Judge for the State of Connecticut. Terry's interests included being a Ham radio operator, a private pilot, and sailing on the Connecticut Sound. Most importantly, Terry was a wonderful husband and father who was most happy spending time with his family.
