Juan Osuba Aviles Obituary
Juan Osuba Aviles, 92, of Willimantic, CT peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 1, 1927 in Las Marias, Puerto Rico, to the late Jose Osuba and Leonor Osuba Aviles and was one of eleven children. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 72 years, Carlina Osuba; his children, Leula Torres and her husband Angel Luis of Anasco, Puerto Rico, Ludy Vazquez of Willimantic, CT, Juan Osuba Jr. & his wife Gayl of Windham, CT, and Isabel Stawicki and her husband Daryl of Goose Creek, South Carolina; his grandchildren, Jaime Vazquez Jr., Nancy Seguin, John Osuba III, Eliza Torres, Jessica Edwards, Lisa Osuba, Angie Torres, Samuel Vazquez, Rebecca Rodriguez, Nicole Osuba, Melissa Fleming and Alexandra Vazquez; his surviving siblings Alicia Osuba, Jose Osuba Jr, and Jaime Osuba; as well as his 13 great grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews.
Juan was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for approximately 50 years. At their home in Puerto Rico, he enjoyed being outside working with the vegetation and cultivating various plants on his property. Among the many things he enjoyed in life, he loved music, learning to sing and play the guitar, as well as spending time with his family and friends.
Family and Friends are invited to a memorial service for Juan at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 96 Quarry Street, Willimantic, CT 06226, on Saturday December 28th, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at JW.org.
