Joyce Diane Perfetto, of Storrs, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 23, 1947 in Baltimore MD to the late Donald J. White and Mary E. Rice. After living in numerous states, Joyce moved to Connecticut with an interest in building and Real Estate, where she became a broker and opened the Century 21 Office in Storrs. The office won many awards for both production and customer service prior to her selling the business in 2002. During her semi-retirement she continued working in real estate and, with her husband, the building of residential homes. She loved having time for gardening, sewing, cooking and reading. She is survived by her best friend and cherished husband, Roger Perfetto who was by her side through her illness. She is also survived by her beloved step daughters, Susan and her husband Michael Jones of Storrs and Julie and her husband Stephen Posa of Lebanon, her most treasured step grandsons, Brian and his wife Heidi Jones of Storrs and Christopher Jones, also of Storrs and her most cherished gift, her great grandson Samuel Evan Jones of Storrs. Joyce is also survived by her sister, Evelyn White of New York. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Mark Dailey and his entire staff for the care and compassion they showed throughout her illness and a thank you to VNA Hospice also for the excellent care and support shown. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM.
