Joshua Matthew Metell, 28, of North Windham, died Friday April 18, 2008 in North Windham. He was born Aug. 30, 1979 in Willimantic. Joshua, a life-long resident of North Windham, is survived by his parents, Pastors Matt and Ingrid Metell; his sisters Taysha and Rhema; and brother Matthew, of North Windham; his niece Tianna and nephew Tyler; grandmother Fortunata; Uncle Johnny and many aunts and uncles; girlfriend Michelle; and Peter and Larry. Joshua graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with two bachelor's degrees, Sociology and Early Childhood Education. Joshua was actively involved with his church and in the Windham community. He was the organizer of the Thread City 3-On-3 Basketball Tournament and other outreaches. Joshua was a first grade teacher at Natchaug Elementary School. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. He was a bright young man with a promising future and a role model for many. Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives me strength.
