Josephine F. Tirone

Josephine F. (Czajka) Fauliso Tirone, 94, a lifelong resident of Willimantic, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2014 while living at St. Joseph Living Center. She was the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Litwig) Czajka. She was predeceased by her husbands Anthony Fauliso and Michael Tirone. She was also predeceased by her brothers Edward, Victor and Joseph Czajka and her sisters Mary Jasczcur and Frances Carpenter. Josephine leaves several nieces and nephews. During her last years Josie was cared for by her two nieces, Deanna Korner of Ashford and Marilyn Hoza of Somers. Josie worked for many years in retail sales at the H. C. Murray Co. (The Boston Store) and at Tubridy's Department Store in Willimantic. Josie loved to dance, especially the Polka and taught her niece Deanna how to jitterbug. She also enjoyed listening to music. Her hobbies included vegetable and flower gardening, especially roses, crocheting, preparing delicious Italian recipes and watching the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics with her husband Michael. Her family would like to thank her primary care doctor, Dr. Mary Barry, for the excellent and kind care she gave Josie. We want to thank the staff at St. Joseph Living Center for the professional care she received. We also want to thank her personal care assistants, Vivian Boufah and Dorcas Yeboah for their special care to enable Josie to stay in her home for several years. Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. Flowers will be welcomed as well as donations to St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
