Josephine P. Maclure, 91, of South Windham, widow of Doria Joseph Maclure, died Tuesday June 29, 2004 in Windham. She was born November 26, 1912 in Lebanon, the daughter of Stephen and Rose (Pichler) Pekarovic and had lived in South Windham since 1951. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Willimantic where she married her husband August 21, 1937. Josephine was employed in Willimantic at the American Thread Company, the Electro-Motive Company and retired at age 70 from Eastern Connecticut State University where she enjoyed working in the Burr Hall Dining Room and treating the students as her own children. She and her late husband enjoyed bowling in the Senior League at Willi-Bowl and taking trips with the Jackson Street Seniors. Most recently she enjoyed trips to the Lebanon Senior Center to visit and play Bingo. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and James Songailo, a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Carole Maclure, 2 grandchildren, Douglas and Katie Maclure and her cat Benjie who spent countless hours on her lap watching TV and the birds at her feeders. She is also survived by a sister, Julia Copeland, a brother, Paul Pekarovic, several nieces and nephews including Dennis Maclure. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the procession to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Willimantic.
