Josephine (Gumula) Luberto, 82, of North Windham, wife of the late, Joseph Luberto, died Wednesday Feb. 26, 2014 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. She was born May 8, 1931 in Willimantic the daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Zaklukiewicz) Gumula. Josephine had been employed in the Windham School System as head cook at Windham Center School and then at North Windham School prior to her retirement. She previously had been employed at Electro-Motive Manufacturing Co. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Willimantic. Josephine was devoted to her family and enjoyed cooking, knitting and swimming. She also enjoyed assisting residents at St. Joseph Living Center. She is survived by her children, Beverly Spector and her husband Howard of Windham, Thomas Luberto and his wife Janet of Windham, David Luberto and his wife Karen of Windham and Christine Lounsbury and her husband Sean of Andover; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Anthony and Michael Luberto and Justin, Jordan, Cory and Devin Spector and several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday Feb. 28, 2014 between 9:30 and 10:30am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, prior to the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic.
