Josephine Capizzi, 82, of Willimantic, died Sunday February 29, 2004 in Windham. She was born April 5, 1921 in Italy, the daughter of Frank and Filomena (Buccino) DiLinardo and had lived in Windham for the past 60 years. She was devoted to her family and took special joy in caring for her grandchildren. Josephine enjoyed a lifetime of exercise and loved to sing and dance and make special Italian recipes for her family and friends. She is survived by 5 children and their spouses, Anthony and Helen Capizzi Jr. of Columbia, Tom and Jeanne Capizzi of Cotuit, MA, Pat and Greg Blish of Mansfield Center, Joy and Steve Mercure of Windham, Carol and Dick Elwell of Mansfield, a sister, Anne Grecco of Long Island, a brother, Fred DiLinardo of Bronx, NY, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 nephews. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic with assembly at the church. The parking lot is in the rear of the church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Living Center Resident Fund, 14 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
