Joseph Walsh Obituary
Joseph F. Walsh, 63, of Willington, CT passed away on February 7, 2022. He was born in Hartford, CT, the son of the late George and Joan (Smith) Walsh, Sr..
Joe was married to his childhood sweetheart for 44 years who he adored dearly. He worked very hard to build a beautiful life and home for his family, working at G&R Valley, Inc. for over 45 years as a Plumber and Project Manager. Some of his favorite pastimes included cooking meals with love, fishing at Mount Hope River, watching New England Patriots football, restoring and driving his 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo (Betty Lou). He was also a member of the Manchester Sportsman Association Club where he enjoyed recreational shooting at their Coventry range. He took pride in his gardening and renovating his home. He had a great sense of humor and was a role model for many. Joe was happiest when he was surrounded by his family, friends, and good food.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Hamilton) Walsh; daughter Melissa Walsh and son-in-law Steven Pierce, daughter Melinda Walsh Vigue and son-in-law Joshua Vigue; mother-in-law Cynthia Hamilton; brothers Mickey and Danny Walsh, brother-in-law and best friend Lee Hamilton; grandchildren Dominick Borgos, Jayden Vigue, Amber and Gabriel Avery. He is also survived by many extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
He was predeceased by his brothers George Walsh Jr., Kevin Walsh, brother and sister-in-law Carl and Donna Hamilton.
His funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, with his calling hours following from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org or The John Ritter Foundation at johnritterfoundation.org.
