Joseph W. St. Laurent, 87, of Windham Center, died Saturday January 5, 2002 at the Windham Hospital. He was the husband of Veronica (Kaczowski) St. Laurent, who survives him. They were married on May 31, 1941. Mr. St. Laurent was born August 8, 1914 in Winchendon, MA, the son of the late Alex and Marie St. Lawrence. He grew up in Norwich and spent most of his life in Willimantic and Windham Center. He owned and operated Will and Dell?s Atlantic Service Station on Main Street in Willimantic from 1945 to 1967. He was then employed as a machinist at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft from 1967 to 1988. Mr. St. Laurent was a life member of the Elks Lodge and throughout his life was an avid fisherman, spending many hours fishing with his children. In addition to his wife he leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and William Borden of Glastonbury, a son, Anthony St. Laurent of Windham Center,a granddaughter, Robyn St. Laurent of Southington and a sister, Irene Gimburt of Southington. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195, 1/2 mile south of Rte. 6) Willimantic on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a procession to the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr. Wallingford, CT 06492-7522.
