Joseph Czajka Sr

Joseph Czajka Sr., 82, of Willimantic, husband of the late Elsie (Dawson) Czajka, died Wednesday August 2, 2006 in Colchester. He was born November 3, 1923 in Willimantic, the son of Frank and Pauline Czajka and was a lifelong resident of Willimantic. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a life member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Prior to his retirement he was employed at the former American Thread Co. for 33 years. He is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Kathleen Czajka Jr. of Lebanon, Richard and Marlene Czajka of Willimantic, a daughter Joann Ladr of NC, 2 sisters, Josie Tirone and Frances Carpenter, both of Willimantic, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 siblings, Victor, Edward and Mary. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St, Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Wednesday August 9th at 9:00 a.m. in the New Willimantic Cemetery.
