Joseph A.L. Simoneau

Joseph A.L. Simoneau, 88, of Willimantic, husband of the late Mary (Linklater) Simoneau, died Saturday July 30, 2011 at his home. He was born Dec. 16, 1922 in Canada the son of Thomas and Ludivene (Caouette) Simoneau. He was a World War II Canadian Army veteran and had been last employed locally as a greeter by Ames department store in East Brook Mall. Joseph was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, a life member of San Jose Council #14 Knights of Columbus and a 4th Degree member of Assembly #121. He is survived by three children, Raoul "Ralph" Simoneau of N. Windham, Gaston Simoneau of Chaplin and Annemarie Beaudoin of Quebec, Canada; two brothers, Emmanuel of Montreal, Canada and Frederic of Quebec, Canada; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday Aug. 3rd at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Joseph Church Renovation Fund, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic,CT. 06226.
